Water for Astronauts and Presidents

To humans, clean water is as essential in space as it is on Earth. Tempest Environmental worked with NASA to design a purification system that on long-duration human space missions turns waste water into water that cools a space craft's power source and that astronauts can drink and use to wash equipment and run laboratory tests.

For 25 years, Tempest Environmental has designed technology that cleans, reuses and saves water. The technology allows astronauts to work on the International Space Station and makes sure presidents can safely drink water in the White House.

Our system was the winning design that updated safety measures in the White House to meet increased biological, chemical and radiological threats following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
